Description:
The Jaguar, whose scientific name is Panthera Onca, is the largest feline of America and the third largest in the whole world, after the tiger and the lion. This species has yellow fur with rosettes and black dots. There may be color morphism, as a result a near-black melanistic variation occurs frequently. The individuals with that variation receive the name of Black Panthers.
This species is both diurnal and nocturnal. In addition, the Jaguar is solitary. Nevertheless, in a male's territory are usually two or three females that interbreed exclusively with that male. The female gives birth to commonly two cubs after a gestation period of 93 to 105 days. After the birth of the cubs the female does not tolerate the presence of the male due to the risk of infanticide. In the wild the lifespan is around 12 to 15 years.

The Jaguar is a opportunistic hunter; in the wild it is an apex predator, which means the it is at the top of the food chain and has little to no predators. As all the cats it is a carnivore and usually hunts large animals. The sole species that may be a predator for the jaguar are the humans and the anaconda.
The taxonomical classification of the Jaguar is:
- Kingdom - Animalia
- Phylum - Chordata
- Class - Mammalia
- Order - Carnivora
- Family - Felidae
- Genus - Panthera
- Species - Onca

ReplyDeleteI think that some corridors should be build, however, if the land is full of a primary source like oil , maybe the corridors should be reduced and leave space for the extraction of these.
ReplyDeleteTo protect the Jaguar, i think
The blog's information is accurate, it has many reliable sources, the structure and the design of the page is clear. However, you just have one image and it is in the background, maybe you should put more.

The blog has complete information, the desing makethe reader to readed in an easier way. I think it would be nice to put pictures because the onlyone you have is the one of the backround. I insist hat the information is really really complete and easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that it is fair to create corridors to protect the Jaguar populations, even thought these areas may help for the development of the economy in the respective country? Yes because the Jaguar are very important animals in the web change and it is very important for they to control the propulation of some animals like mammals. Additionally if they dissapear the food chain would suffer dramatic changes in the interaction among other species.
ReplyDeletePosible solutions: a posible solution would be to determinate an specific area for the Jaguar populations, where nobody would be affected. So there the specie can developed and live in calm, knowing that nobody is gong to hunt it.
Feedback: your photos are very great, at the same as your design. And your information is very complete, and enjoyable.
The information is complete and very interesting. Also it is well organized, which makes it easy to read. However, there are no images besides the backgroud one. It would be nice to put more imagres for making the blog more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteA possible solution might be to create some reserves where the jaguar could live and develop without being hunted. Also, many campaings should be made for peope to become aware of the danger they cause buying clothes or any other thing made with jaguar skin.
I think some corridors should be created to protect this specie, because of its importance on its environment and the food web.
I think that is fair because the panther is an animal which is an exotic animal that not all the countries have and if that is a way to protect this specie it is fine. Also it contributes to the rich fauna from the country. Possibles solution for this problem: To isolate this specie from the cattle and to create a safe and comfortable environment. Nice Blog, with concise information that shows a management of the topic, nice picture, and good organization.
ReplyDeleteI think it is fair, because the Jaguar only lives in some places of the world not everywhere.
ReplyDeletePeople need to know what is going on. If people doesnt have clear why we need to protect this animal,, people is going to continue hunting these animals and wont know that they are killing and endager animal.
Your blog is very complete and have many pictures. The information is very complete and clear.
the information is complete but you could include more images.
ReplyDeletepeoplr should be informed of the danger that they can cause to an species like this, you have to create social concience in order to help the animals and their environment to survive.

it is important to overpose the life of a living organism to an economical activity, the areas that are affected (minorly) by this organism should be more protected to solve this problem, but the animal can not be hunted.
ReplyDeletethe information is very complete and organized but you should include more pictures.
Your information is complete and very interesting. According to design, I really like the picture you used as background, it is beautiful, any way you should include some more pictures. The information is well organized but you should choose a design in which the information doesn´t look too long, the reader can get bored and it wouldn´t be enjoyable to read.
ReplyDeleteAn idea to protect the specie is to to reforestation programs and campaigns to recover the panthera Onca´s natural habitat and prevent it´s extinction. I support the idea of changing agriculture, animal husbandry and cattle territories to other places in which they are not threatened by the jaguar with the state´s help, making sure that these workers would have the same opportunities on the new territories. Finally I would prohibit the sale of animal body parts as accessories.
Yes I think it is fair because this Animal is really important in the food chain and if it is extinguished, the environment and food chain would be affected representing dramatic changes which could also threaten this economic development. Also I also think that there are many other places where the economic activities could be done, so I think it is fair to find a balance where neither of both parts (workers and Jaguar) gets affected.
Answer to the question: I think that it is more important to protect the species because although the areas used for corridors could be used for other economic activities, it is more important to maintain the balance of the food chain in the ecosystem; because protecting ecosystems is important fo the whole Planet, while that ountry should be able to develop another economic activity that could benefit them without affecting the environment.
ReplyDeletePossible solution: Avoiding deforestation of the Jaguar's natural environment could be helpful, also making people conscience of the importance of this species and strengthening the presence of local authorities to prevent more Panthers to be killed.
Feedback: Your blog is very interesting, the information is complete and the background is nice. Although I would suggest you to reorganize your information, starting by the description, and to add more images. However, it was a very good job.
A solution to protect the animal is to do give an specfict area (an animal reserve) for this animal where humans cant damage them or their enviorment.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is good and with clear information and images correct some spelling mistakes.
The blog is organized, complete, enjoyable to read and with a good design. It has pictures and a good structure.

Ideas to protect the species:
ReplyDeleteCampignes to promote the taking care of the species are a good way to inform people of the situation. Also reforestation programs of the jaguar's envirenment or "No reforestation" programs will increase the population of the species.
Your blog is very good! It has many images and good information

the corridos should be built but taking into account the resources and in that case make a 50-50 part for each one, the extraction and the corridors, the blog was really nice and full of excellent images
ReplyDeletenice blog, very good information. PERFECT
